Initializing the flash memory

The flash memory is used to store form data, etc.
Follow the procedure below to initialize it.

  • Once the flash memory is initialized, the following data will be deleted.
    • Data saved by [Save as shared job] or [Private Print]
    • Form data


  1. Check that "Ready To Print" appears on the display.

    • If the machine is in the power save mode, press «POWER SAVE» to restore.
  2. Press the scroll button ▼ on the operator panel several times to select [Admin Setup], and press «OK».
  3. Input the admin password using the numeric keypad, and press «OK».

  4. Press ▲ or ▼ several times to select [Others Setup], and press «OK».
  5. Press ▲ to select [Flash Memory Setup], and press «OK».
  6. Select [Initialize] or [Format Partition], and press «OK».
  7. To initialize it, check that [Execute] is selected, and press «OK».
    To format partition, select the partition to be formatted, and press «OK».

    •  There are two methods to initialize a memory
      • [Initialize]: Initializes the open area range (displayed in the file list) of the flash memory.
      • [Format Partition]: Initializes the user information. You can format each partition of PCL/Common/PS.
  8. When [Are you sure?] is displayed, select [Yes] and press «OK».
    To cancel the initialization, select [No] instead.
  9. When [Execute Now?] is displayed, select [Yes] and press «OK».
    This machine restarts and the memory will be initialized.

    • When [Execute Now?] is displayed and you select [No], the display will return to [Flash Memory Setup], but the initialization will not be canceled. Initialization will be done the next time the power is turned on.
