Changing the admin password

The admin password can consist of 1 to 32 digits.

The following characters can be used for the admin password.

  • Upper-case letters
  • Lower-case letters
  • Digits
  • Symbols: [Space] ! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ [ ¥ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~

  • Be sure to write down the password you set just in case you forget.

  • If you forget the changed password, you cannot change [Admin Setup] or [Boot Menu].

  • To reset the admin password, the charged service by maintenance staff may be necessary.


This section describes how to change the factory default admin password as an example.


  1. Check that "Ready To Print" appears on the display.

    • If the machine is in the power saving mode, press «OK» to restore.

  2. Press the scroll button ▼ on the operator panel several times to select [Admin Setup], and then press «OK».

  3. Input the factory default admin password.

  4. Press ▲ to select [Change Password], and then press «OK».

  5. When "Be careful not to forget the new administrator password that you have just changed. It is required to change the settings. Press the OK Button." is displayed, press «OK».

  6. Enter a new password and press «OK».

  7. Press «OK» again to display the [Verify Password] screen.

  8. Input the password again, and press «OK».

  9. When «OK» is pressed again, the password has been changed and the screen returns to [Admin Setup].
