Following various mergers and acquisitions, United Bank/ ABSA Bank had grown its organisation to more than 1000 branches and approximately 46,000 employees. Each bank that had been incorporated into the organisation had its own platform and technology. A suitable solution was required to unify the organisation’s IT operations including teller printing facilities. The chosen platform required a high impact printer that could handle multiple paper sizes for front feed and return, use indelible ink, print triplicate carbon copies and print complete cheques. The bank’s technology partner recommended OKI and a shortlist was created consisting of three OKI printers. OKI’s ML6300FB excelled in the evaluation process and is now installed at 9,000 of the bank’s teller workstations across South Africa with the bank reporting the average time between print failures is more than 160% better than competitor models.
“In the three years of implementation ABSA saved R18-million by choosing OKI over the other print solutions” - Harry van Staden, Operations Manager, ABSA
