Experienced printing business Urlichs & Pape was seeing reduced demand for labels produced using traditional label printing processed including offset printing and thermal transfer printing and needed a solution for printing coloured adhesive labels. After evaluating the most appropriate equipment, Urlichs & Pape opted for OKI’s Pro1050 five-colour LED label printer in combination with the UniNet iColor LF700+ digital label finishing system. Using the smart solution, Urlichs & Pape now print on a wide range of media, including uncoated, glossy and textured papers as well as synthetic materials with a variety of substrates such as transparent, opaque, white or coloured.
Having the option of white as a fifth colour gives the printing business greater flexibility in the design of the printed labels. Efficiency has been a big advantage of the the Pro1050 Label Printer, making it possible to produce more in a shorter time. Small labels printed in low volumes, cost less and are more bespoke, making them more attractive to customers. With the new possibilities offered by the Pro1050 Label Printer, Urlichs & Pape is now equipped to expand its customer base and target industries which need labels in smaller quantities.
“Offset printing is not able to cope with label production in this form. This is where the strengths of the OKI label printer come into play.”
Ulrich Peters, Managing Director, Urlichs & Pape
