Founded in 2018, Expressive Gifts has quickly established itself as an award-winning online retailer. Specialising in handmade personalised keepsakes and gifts created using handwriting and children’s drawings, the business required a reliable digital production printer that could print fine details in different fonts and handle a variety of media including transfers for use on different substrate types and colours.

Expressive Gifts founder Vicky Bannister formed the business around a vision of providing truly unique gifts with a sentimental touch. This required a digital production printer that could produce a variety of different applications and print a wide range of fonts and colours on different substrates and media types. Bannister saw a demonstration of OKI’s White Toner Digital Transfer Media Printer during a visit to the Printwear & Promotion LIVE show and immediately saw the potential it would provide her business. Installing the printer allowed Bannister to print on transfers for textiles and garments as well as substrates of various colours and types including wood, glass and acrylic. 

The OKI device has allowed Bannister to expand her product range and resulted in repeat customers. The pandemic and festive season saw Expressive Gifts inundated with customer orders and despite the OKI device running continuously seven days a week to keep up with demand, it has remained 100% reliable with no technical difficulties or issues impacting orders. Bannister is considering purchasing a larger OKI device in the future to print products in larger formats.
