Senior Associate Director Yuhiko Fujiwara spoke at one of South Korea’s largest events.
A request was made by SMI*1, a Korean government initiative supporting digital transformation (DX) in manufacturing, for a lecture on OKI’s Innovation Management System (IMS), and Yuhiko Fujiwara spoke at “EMK2 × SMI Korea 2026.” The event was held at Hall A conference hall in the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Gangnam District, Seoul.
Senior executives driving South Korea’s manufacturing sector, as well as individuals preparing for business succession, attended the event. Yuhiko Fujiwara gave a lecture on “OKI’s innovation initiatives for transforming corporate culture.” The Q&A session significantly exceeded its scheduled time, resulting in an active exchange of views lasting one hour.
In South Korea, companies of all sizes are struggling to generate new business opportunities, posing challenges for many business leaders. In this context, there was a strong sense in the room that attendees were seeking a framework or practical model such as an Innovation Management System (IMS).
Manufacturing industries around the world are experimenting and adapting in order to capture increasingly diverse market needs. Through this lecture, it was strongly felt that business leaders in both Japan and South Korea are actively exploring new approaches.
