TOKYO, December 4, 2025 -- OKI (TOKYO: 6703) upgraded the OKI VIET NAM CO., LTD. (OKI Vietnam) production site, located in the Trang Due Industrial Park, Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam, initiating full-scale operations of a new factory in September 2025. The upgrade more or less doubles production capacity for automated equipment products, like ATMs, and strengthens the supply system for customers around the world.
Despite growing use of cashless payments worldwide, the volume of currency in global circulation continues to climb and demand for cash remains strong. Demand for ATMs is growing in India and Southeast Asian countries, particularly in Vietnam. OKI is actively expanding ATM deployment not just in Japan, but in these growing overseas markets.
the new Vietnam factory
Since the start of its operations in 2019, the OKI Vietnam factory has played a key role as a global production site for automated equipment products, especially ATMs. The opening of the new factory roughly doubles production capacity and consolidates various mass production operations, including operations involving mid- to high-volume production and common units. The OKI Group has restructured its production system to make it more efficient and flexible. OKI TOMIOKA Manufacturing (Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture) now serves as the mother factory responsible for launching new products, transferring production to the Vietnam factory, and handling high-mix, variable volume production and order customization.
These changes will strengthen OKI production capabilities, allowing it to respond faster and more effectively to changing markets and the changing needs of global customers and to ensure a stable supply of high quality products and services.
Looking ahead to 2031, the 150th anniversary of its founding, OKI is forging ahead with the strategic development of production sites and platform standardization. Its flexible and swift production system gives OKI the resources needed to respond quickly and effectively to changing markets in Japan, Vietnam, other Southeast Asia countries, and India, in turn allowing OKI to contribute to social development and improved convenience in the lives of people around the world.
