TOKYO, July 24, 2025 -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takahiro Mori; "OKI"), and Funai Soken Logistics Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Naoyuki Hashimoto), a consolidated subsidiary of Funai Soken Holdings Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Group CEO: Takayuki Nakatani) hereby announce that they have entered into a business alliance relating to systems development in the logistics industry. The two companies aim to realize solutions for logistics SMEs by combining OKI's advanced system development capabilities and Funai Soken Logistics' extensive knowledge of logistics.
Logistics is a key area of focus for future business creation in OKI's Medium-Term Business Plan 2025. The company is seeking to establish a presence in the logistics industry in three phases: Improving branch line transportation efficiency, optimization of branch line to trunk line transportation, and supply chain optimization. Phase 1 is already underway, and the company is preparing to transition to Phase 2 in 2026.
Meanwhile, Funai Soken Logistics has a wealth of experience in and expertise in providing on-site consulting support for logistics-industry clients, and offers a comprehensive line-up of solutions for corporate logistics issues, including everything from initial strategy formulation to improving existing operations.
As part of the companies' pursuit of growth strategies, they have agreed to work together to seek solutions for a logistics industry suffering severe driver shortages and capacity constraints following the labor law reforms enacted in 2024. In particular, they are focused on supporting SMEs, which typically struggle to afford the cost of large-scale investments in DX.

(taken from OKI's Innovation Strategy 2025) and its aims for the alliance.
The alliance between Funai Soken Logistics and OKI is aimed at developing a platform that underpins regional logistics with the flexibility to support a diverse range of operations that differ from company to company. The platform will target shippers and logistics SMEs located away from Japan's main urban centers, who are particularly hard-hit by recent labor shortages, as well as markets worldwide facing similar challenges.
Services will include a transport management system equipped to comply with 2024 regulatory changes, as well as a warehouse management system and an order management system, all of which clients can use in accordance with their needs.
Funai Soken Logistics and OKI predict that logistics SMEs will sign up to the platform; as such, it will incorporate services that enable shippers to take advantage of joint distribution arrangements with those participating companies.
OKI's warehouse management systems, including the SHO-XYZ location and inventory management tool, as well as its transportation management systems will be readied for global expansion.
