Water Resources

Basic Concept

From the perspective of biodiversity conservation, OKI views water usage as a risk subject to stricter regulations. After assessing water risk using an external tool(*), we have determined that none of our bases in Japan or overseas are at high risk.
However, as some of our bases in Japan have annual water withdrawals of over 100,000 m3, we will continue to pay attention to the efficient use and management of water resources.

*Aqueduct: An assessment tool developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) that visualizes water-related risks such as water stress and depletion.

Water stress is defined as a situation where the baseline water stress in the Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas is assessed as “high” or greater. Assessments happen regularly.
