Fax Error Codes

If problems have occurred in the fax communication, print the Transmit/Receipt Journal and check the error codes.

Follow the solution to handle the problem.

If the error persists, turn off the busy tone detection and send again. To change the setting of the busy tone detection, select [Device Settings] > [Admin Setup] > [User Install] > Set [Busy Tone Detection] to [OFF] on the touch panel.

Turn off the super G3 mode.(*)

The confidential reception failed. The subaddress did not match the subaddress specified by the other party.

Confirm the other party that the correct subaddress was specified.

There is nothing wrong with this machine.

Fax was not received because the number of faxes with the confidential reception has reached the upper limit.

Up to 30 documents can be received in a confidential box.

Print the documents received with the confidential reception. Received documents are automatically deleted after being printed.

Bulletin board box polling transmission failed. The subaddress of the other party did not match.

Contact the other party and have them check that they specified the correct subaddress.

There is nothing wrong with this machine.

Transmission was cancelled due to the ID checking function. The fax number (own number) registered on the other party's machine and the last four digits of the number you specified did not match.

Confirm the number and send again. If the error persists, contact the other party and have them check the information registered on their machine (Ex: checking the ID). Or send again with the ID checking function disabled.

To change the setting, select [Device Settings] > [Admin Setup] > [Fax Setup] > [Security Function] > Set [ID Check Tx] to [OFF] on the touch panel.

Reception was blocked by the Block Junk Fax function.

If there is a problem with the blocking mail function, check the Block Junk Fax setting.

If the error persists, contact the other party and have them check that the ID (own number registered in the other party’s machine) is correct.

The confidential sending failed. The fax was not sent because the destination machine could not receive the fax.

Contact the other party and have them check that the confidential box is available, etc.

The bulletin board box polling reception failed. Documents were not set on the destination machine.
