The meeting began with an introduction to OKI's corporate profile and global initiatives. We explained our efforts in global open innovation utilizing OKI Berlin Lab and OKI Silicon Valley Lab, as well as the objectives behind these projects. The Berlin delegation also provided an overview of the Tegel Projekt, a state-owned company that is developing the former Tegel airport area into one of eleven future hubs in Berlin where innovative startups, research facilities and companies come together.
Following this, the guests were guided to our showroom, "OKI Style Square TORANOMON," where we showcased two of OKI's products: the Optical Fiber Sensor and the Zero-Energy IoT Series. The Optical Fiber Sensor enables the monitoring of infrastructure and other structures by measuring temperature and strain across a wide area. At OKI Berlin Lab, we are focused on further advancing photonics technology and enhancing the performance and functionality of these sensors. The Zero-Energy IoT Series allows for easy infrastructure monitoring without the need for external power sources or wiring. Both products have the potential to contribute to safety and security not only in Japan, but also globally.
Mayor Giffey expressed her enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate with OKI's business development efforts. OKI will continue to strengthen its technological capabilities in Berlin and strive to become a company that "Delivering OK! to your life" worldwide.
