OKI's Activities for the Creation of Innovation

Shinya Kamagami
Shinya Kamagami
President

Since OKI was founded in 1881, it has passed down its "enterprising spirit." Starting with the development of the first Japanese telephone that was the product that led to our founding, we have contributed to the development of social infrastructure through our telephone exchange systems, the ATMs used at financial institutions, traffic control systems, and the like.

In the Mid-term Business Plan announced in 2017, our vision is to realize "The OKI group helps create a safe and convenient infrastructure for customers and society as a whole through the key Japanese concepts of "Mono-zukuri" and "Koto-zukuri"." and we shall take up various challenges to create innovation.
One of the results has been to be selected by Thomson Reuters as one of the Top 100 Global Technology Leaders in January 2018. However, technology is developing rapidly around the world and social problems are becoming global problems.

OKI has started a companywide effort to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations in 2015 through its businesses as a company. However, OKI cannot solve social issues alone.

Therefore, starting in fiscal 2018, OKI shall further reinforce and accelerate its collaborative innovation activities in order to jointly create new businesses together with external partners.

Please look forward to OKI's innovation creation activities.
