A paper jam has occurred while feeding paper from a tray.

If paper jams occur frequently, clean the paper feed rollers. For details, refer to "Cleaning".
This procedure uses Tray 1 as an example.

Gently pull out from the machine the paper cassette (1) for which an error is indicated.

Pinch both ends of the jammed paper with your hands and pull the jammed paper out slowly in a downward direction.

If paper is not jammed, feeding paper may fail. Reduce the number of sheets of paper loaded on the paper cassette. Make sure that the paper stoppers are set in the right position.

Push the paper cassette (1) back into the machine.
Open and close the front cover to clear the error.

Insert your finger into the recess on the right side of the machine and pull the front cover open lever (2) to open the front cover (3) forward.

Close the front cover (3).
