Checking the Communication Status/Transmission and Reception History

This section describes how to check fax transmission and reception.

You can check whether a fax is being sent properly when the fax transmission job is in progress.

  1. Press [Fax/Internet Fax] or the (FAX) button.

  2. Press [Fax].

  3. Select the [Fax Job View/Cancel] tab.

  4. Check the job content.

You can check the transmission history and reception history.

  1. Press [Fax/Internet Fax] or the (FAX) button.

  2. Press [Tx/Rx Journal].

  3. Press [Tx Journal] or [Rx Journal].

    • Tx Journal: Lists the transmission results.

    • Rx Journal: Lists the reception results.

  4. Press [Description] to check the detailed information.

The following information can be checked.

Distant Station

Indicates destinations.

You can change the display style of [Distant Station] in the [Distant Station Priority] setting of [Admin Setup] > [Fax Setup] > [Other Settings].

When [Type 1] is set

  • For the fax auto transmission/Fcode polling reception

    The device information (phone number) registered in the destination machine is displayed.

    If the device information (phone number) is not registered in the destination machine, the destination information (“name" in the “speed dial” or phone number) specified in the machine is displayed.

  • For the manual transmission (on-hook dial)

    The device information (phone number) registered in the destination machine is displayed.

    If the device information (phone number) is not registered in the destination machine, the specified destination (phone number) is displayed.

When [Type 2] is set

  • For the fax auto transmission/Fcode polling reception

    The destination information (“name" in the “speed dial” or phone number) specified in the machine is displayed.

  • For the manual transmission (on-hook dial)

    The specified destination (phone number) is displayed.

*The display style of “Distant Station” cannot be changed in case of the fax reception, manual transmission using the external telephone, or Fcode polling transmission.

The device information (phone number) registered in the destination machine is displayed.

If the device information (phone number) is not registered in the destination machine, “Number Unknown” is displayed.

Tx History

Indicates the way of sending fax.

Manual Tx: A fax was sent after a telephone call made from the external telephone was finished.

Secure Box Tx: A fax was sent to the confidential box of the destination machine.

Fcode Polling Tx: A document saved in the bulletin board box of the machine was sent as a fax.

Broadcast: A fax was sent to multiple destinations at the same time.

PC-FAX: A fax was sent via the fax driver on a computer.

Forwarding: A received fax was forwarded to another fax machine.

*A blank cell indicates communication other than those categories (such as usual automatic transmission).

Rx History

Manual Rx: Receive a fax after answering with the external telephone.

Fcode Polling Rx: A document saved in the bulletin board box of the destination machine was received as a fax.

Secure Box Rx: A fax sent to the confidential box of the machine was received.

*A blank cell indicates communication other than those categories (such as usual automatic reception).

Result

Displays any of the following six states, “# OK”, “* OK”, “OK”, “# ERROR”, “* ERROR”, or “ERROR”.

#: Communicates via Super G3.

*: Communicates via G3 ECM.

Non: Communicates via Non ECM.

Error Code

Indicates the error code when a communication error occurs.

A blank cell indicates that the communication is successfully completed.
