OKI Delivers "Next Generation Automated Gate System" to Immigration Bureau, the Ministry of Justice
Total of ten sets to be installed at Japan's three international airports: Narita, Kansai and Centrair
TOKYO, February 2, 2010 -- OKI Electric Industry (TSE: 6703) today announced that it has delivered a "Next Generation Automated Gate System" capable of managing immigration work and of identifying individuals. Ten gates in total will be installed at Japan's three international airports: Narita (4 sets), Kansai (4 sets) and Centrair (2 sets).
"Next Generation Automated Gate System" identifies individuals through fingerprints and photographs taken during the immigration process. The new solution is more compact and easier to use than conventional systems. Installing the new gate system is expected to make the immigration process, which requires strict security controls, more efficient, while at the same time enhancing the overall service provided to travelers.
OKI will continue helping to deliver greater user-friendliness to travelers while strengthening immigration security.
