EMEA LEGAL & COMPLIANCE EXECUTIVE


About the role

Reporting to the EMEA Legal and Compliance Manager, the EMEA Legal and Compliance Executive will be responsible for providing in-house legal assistance in respect to the operating practises and procedures across a number of countries within the EMEA region.
 
The role will be diverse , but the principal responsibility will be commercial law within the EMEA region. The role will also involve a wide variety of ad hoc corporate and commercial legal matters.
 
The candidate must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.  Fluency in other European
languages is a major plus but not a requirement.

Main responsibilities

Assist with;
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating agreements (all contracts within the business);
  • Reviewing tender documents to ensure that the terms are manageable and favourable.
  • Reviewing supplier and distribution agreements
  • Providing legal advice on liability and warranty terms
  • Reviewing incoming non-disclosure agreements and make suggested changes
  • Maintaining schedule of office lease agreements for various sites across the EMEA region.
  • Develop and administer internal processes to assist employees , ensure quick delivery of legal service, and review compliance.
  • Reviewing standard operating procedures for the company and make necessary recommendations for improvement.
  • Managing litigation claims
  • Managing the export control compliance of the group. Ensuring compliance with US, EU and Japanese  regulations.
  • Drafting documents on a wide range of different topics relating to commerc ial or employment issues.
  • Pay superb attention to detail and provide timely legal support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience negotiating with customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is a strong positive.
  • Review insurance policy arrangements.

Candidate  requirements

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor/Legal Consultant
  • Good previous experience within a commercial environment
  • Commercially astute, highly organised and self-motivated
  • Experience in a legal role overseeing the EMEA region (highly useful)
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills- internal and external
