◆OFF (Factory default setting):

Set to OFF if the toner came off when printed paper was rubbed and/or uneven gloss occurred when printing on the plain paper setting. However, paper curl may increase.

<Precautions when changing the setting>

Setting [Mode1 to 4] shortens the lifetime of the image drum due to the process change. Depending on your usage environment, [Mode0] and OFF are also the same.

◆Mode0:

<Usage effects>

It reduces paper curl.

<Precautions for use>

Set to OFF if the toner came off when printed paper was rubbed and/or uneven gloss occurred when printing on the plain paper setting. However, paper curl may increase.

◆Mode1/Mode2:

<Usage effects>

Set to Mode1/Mode2 if you want to reduce paper curl though the toner came off when printed paper was rubbed and/or uneven gloss occurred when printing on the plain paper setting. If [Mode1] does not reduce paper curl, change to [Mode2]. [Effect: Mode1 < Mode2]

<Precautions for use>

The warm-up time is longer than when selecting Mode0/OFF, and the print speed slows down. (The warm-up time in [Mode2] is longer than that in [Mode1].) Effects of paper curl reduction is lower than Mode0.

◆Mode3/Mode4:

<Usage effects>

Set to Mode3/Mode4 to prevent paper jams at the image drum when duplex printing is performed on thin paper. [Effect: Mode3 < Mode4]

<Precautions for use>

The warm-up time is longer than when selecting Mode0/OFF, and the print speed slightly slows down. [Mode3] and [Mode4] are effective only on the [Plain paper] setting. Set to [Mode3], then change to [Mode4] if the desired effect is not achieved.

◆Mode5:

Selecting Mode5 performs the same as selecting [OFF].
