[Access Limitation for Terminals] Protecting important information stored in cell phones and other terminals

Address book display / operation enabled. Address book display / operation disabled. Personal information protected.
Cell phones store email, address books, digital photographs, call history, and a variety of other information. Ensuring the security of this information when a cell phone is lost or stolen is an important issue. In other words, now that cell phones have become smart, limitation of access through personal identification is indispensable.
FSE supports personal identification functionality through basic face recognition. Since FSE uses the built-in cameras of the terminals, it is not necessary to add new devices such as fingerprint sensors, contributing to the protection of important information at low cost.

Risks when a Cell Phone is Lost or Stolen

Leakage of personal information (address book, photographs, call history, etc.)
Abuse of cell phones by third parties
Illegal viewing of email by third parties

Features of Face Recognition Technology using FSE

Low cost:
New devices such as fingerprint sensors are unnecessary because the built-in camera of the terminal is used for personal identification.
Improved deterrence:
The fact the face images used are easy to identify for people promises to have a psychological deterrence effect on illegal users.
Convenience:
Reduced psychological burden on the user because there are no passwords to be remembered, and there is no body contact and no special operation necessary.
