Global networks are changing the structures of society, economy and industry.
These networks enable us to communicate even more interactively, without thinking about the network wherever we may be. Thus, the constraints towards “individuals” are becoming less binding.
OKI defines an individual as a person or other entity that can provide and receive information via communication.
As the concept of an individual becomes broader, different levels of security will be required to enable safe and secure communications. In such an environment, individuals will play a more important role than ever.
Using Ubiquitous Networks –a network, in which individuals can communicate beyond time and space, whenever, wherever, with whatever, – all individuals can access any resources, such as information, data, content, etc. OKI will provide individualized services to each individual depending on that individual’s environment and preferences. This is what we call Ubiquitous Service.
OKI contributes to the realization of an e-society that is full of such Ubiquitous Services. The e-society OKI seeks to achieve is one that enables individuals to:
Freely engage in their activities beyond time and space constraints -- that is,
“Whenever, wherever, with whatever”
Fully utilize services via various terminals--“Required service in the desired style,” and
Utilize high-quality networks with peace of mind--“Securely and reliably.”
