SURREY, UK, May 10, 2010 -- OKI Europe Limited, an OKI Group company specializing in printer business in the EMEA region, announced its support for Save the Children charity's global 'Rewrite the Future' campaign, which focuses on securing quality education for millions of children out of school due to conflict and violence, as part of its corporate responsibility program.

OKI Europe adopted Save the Children as its corporate charity in 1994 and over the past 16 years has donated almost £¼ million, including support from its customers through initiatives such as the company's consumables recycling program. This long-standing partnership has culminated in support for 'Rewrite the Future', launched three years ago to help children whose education has been disrupted or who miss out entirely as a result of humanitarian disasters.

"Save the Children relies on the generosity of our corporate supporters to provide reliable and on-going funding," says Douglas Rouse, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Save the Children. "OKI Europe's support is helping us get conflict-affected children into school - including those who otherwise would not have the opportunity of education - and it ensures they receive a better quality of education through the provision of trained teachers, reasonable class sizes, appropriate equipment and curricula."

In just a short period the 'Rewrite the Future' campaign has ensured that one million children have gained access to schooling for the first time and a further 10.6 million are benefiting from improved education programs.

"We are delighted to have been associated over so many years with a charity which shares many of our core values," says Pamela Ghosal, Marketing and Communications Manager, at OKI Europe. "At OKI Europe, we recognize that as a business, we can play an important role in making the world a better place for children. As a result, our partnership with Save the Children continues to help create real and lasting change in the lives of vulnerable young people.

The current 'Rewrite the Future' education program in particular is a powerful initiative which is already breaking the cycle of poverty for many children affected by conflict, giving them new opportunities and hope for the future.
