OKI Power Tech Establishes OKI Power Tech Trading (Shenzhen)

TOKYO, December 1, 2008 -- OKI Electric Industry (TSE: 6703) and OKI Power Tech, an OKI Group company developing and manufacturing power supply units, today announced the establishment of OKI Power Tech Trading (Shenzhen), in Shenzhen, China to enhance the design and development structure and to expand sales in the Chinese market.
"OKI Power Tech marked its tenth anniversary in October 2008, and is steadily expanding its business globally. We established and started manufacturing at our Thailand plant in October 2008, and this OKI Power Tech Trading (Shenzhen) will be the second company established in China," said Akira Ugawa, President of OKI Power Tech. "By establishing this new company, we will be able to increase the speed of our design and development activities. That will enable us to meet the increasing demands for power supply units for office equipment in the Asia markets, and to develop products that meet the local Chinese customers' needs. Through these activities, we aim to further expand our overseas business."
OKI Power Tech is an expert in designing, developing, manufacturing and selling power supply units and electronic devices, and has been offering various products utilizing its advanced technologies such as developing digital power supplies with DSP application and power supplies for financial equipment. In particular, OKI Power Tech's revolutionary product, which is an industry-first amorphous(*1) power supply unit, is valued highly by customers not only because it improves power conversion efficiency, but also because it reduces power consumption in the standby mode and enables smaller size.
OKI Power Tech has steadily been enhancing its overseas business structure. In June 2005, the company established OKI Power Tech Hong Kong to promote manufacturing activities in China and In October 2008, OKI Power Tech established and started shipment at its manufacturing site in Thailand.
