OKI Networks Launches IPstage® Series Release 6
New functions to advance unified communication for SMBs
TOKYO, October 21, 2008 -- OKI Networks Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) in charge of telecommunication products, today announced two products in its IPstage® Series that offer functions to help advance unified communication for small and medium businesses (SMBs). The products are "IPstage EX100 Release 6," an IP-PBX, and "IPstage MX/SX Release 6," an IP and mobile key telephone system.
"OKI Networks has been offering products to enable unified communication for companies. We believe the new 'IPstage EX100 Release 6' and 'IPstage MX/SX Release 6' will advance unified communications for SMBs," said Masasuke Kishi, President of OKI Networks. "We will continue to expand the functions of 'IPstage Series' and aim to contribute to improve customers' business efficiency and establish a dominant competitive position."
The new IPstage works with salesforce.com's software-as-a-service (SaaS) CRM, which enables SMBs to easily build a customer management system even if they do not have their own systems. The product will also have a voice mail package that can record up to 120 hours. The IPstage helps better business communication by enabling easier calling among company sites in different locations, and seamlessly connecting existing terminals with software phone. It also offers G.729 connectivity to VoIP carriers. Thus, the new "IPstage Series" significantly enhances functions to advance unified communication for SMBs.
"We support fully OKI Networks' release of 'IPstage series release 6'," said Fred Macaraeg, vice president of alliances at salesforce.com in Japan. "Companies of all sizes and industries can now energize their customer communications by leveraging customer information. By integrating with Salesforce, the world's leading SaaS-based CRM, we are confident that OKI Networks will provide a CRM environment that dramatically bolsters customer satisfaction and enables businesses to establish a leadership position in their industries."
Major added functions
- Connects with "Salesforce," the software-as-a-service (SaaS) CRM
OKI's "Com@WILL® software phone" seamlessly integrates with "Salesforce," from salesforce.com, who is the leader in the SaaS CRM market. When phone calls are received, customer information on Salesforce database pops up, and notes of the call will automatically be displayed. OKI helps customers make calls easily and manage customer information, contributing to an improvement in customer satisfaction level.
- Adds a 120-hour voice mail package, one of the longest in the industry
The voice mail package, which can be built in the IPstage, includes up to 120 hours of recording. This length is one of the longest of its kind in the industry. Because it can be built into the IPstage, compared to previous models with external voice mails, it significantly reduces installation cost and simplifies construction and maintenance. As a result, SMBs can easily receive the benefit of a highly convenient service of phone call answering and recording. This function is available for both "IPstage EX100" and "IPstage MX."
- Expanding Automatic Route Selection (ARS)
When phones in different locations are connected to a public telephone network (PSTN), users can call each other by simply dialing the extension number. Therefore, customers can make internal calls easily even without a leased line and can reduce communication costs by using a flat rate for IP phone services on a PSTN.
- Adds convenience by strengthening "Smart Duo" that connects existing terminals and software phone
OKI adds convenience to the IP and mobile environments by adding a PHS terminal to the hardware phone which connects to "Com@WILL software phone." Smart Duo interlocks with hardware phones and Com@WILL software phone for outgoing and incoming calls, to leverage each advantage. For example, users can start an outgoing call by clicking on the Com@WILL software phone on their mobile PC and then switch to a hardware phone, or check the pop-up caller information on the PC screen, and then receive the phone on the hardware. Users can also receive voice mails on Com@WILL software phone when they are absent. They can utilize the seamless connection of a mobile PC and a PHS terminal from anywhere in the office, which adds convenience and mobility.
- Enables G.729 connection to VoIP carriers
Conventional voice connection to VoIP carriers was limited to G.711, a non-compression voice connection. By adding G.729, the 8kbps compression codec, users can choose a voice communication using less bandwidth.
