OKI Delivers its IP & Mobile Key Telephone System "IPstage® MX/SX" to Asahi Sosetsu
Achieves SIP-based connections to six locations throughout Japan
TOKYO, July 22, 2008 -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) today announced it has delivered an SIP-based IP telephone system with its IP & mobile key telephone systems "IPstage® MX" and "IPstage® SX," to Asahi Sosetsu Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of food processing equipment. The system was put together by Hokuriku Tsushin Kogyo Company.
Asahi Sousetsu has six locations throughout Japan, including its headquarters, sales offices and a factory, but these locations were not connected by means of an internal network circuit. Therefore, to contact someone in another location, the caller had to call the main number via PSTN, which caused multiple call transferring. In addition, its factory only had fixed phones available, which forced the person who received the phone call to look around the factory for the party being called. The company decided to build an IP telephony environment to solve these issues, reduce communication costs and increase the communication speed among locations.
Masa Saito, General Manager of IP Systems Division at OKI said, "We are happy to have contributed to increasing Asahi Sosetsu's communication efficiency through our well-accepted key telephone system which has a strong track record. We will continue to offer IP telephony system using these IPstage MX/SX to companies seeking to improve their business efficiency."
The IPstage MX is installed at Asahi Sosetsu's headquarters, and is connected via SIP to the IPstage SXs, which are installed at five of the other locations. The systems are connected with NTT West's FLET's Group VPN service, offering a high sound quality. Now, employees can call each other directly on an internal line without any unnecessary phone transfers. At its factory, Asahi Sosetsu now uses OKI's PHS (Personal Handyphone System) "UM7588," making it possible for factory employees to directly receive phones calls from other employees on their PHS wherever they may be within the premises. As a result, Asahi Sosetsu succeeded in increasing the communication speed among employees, even when they are located in different locations.
