OKI to Exhibit at China International Exhibition on Financial Banking Technology & Equipment 2007

Featured will be two ATMs for the Chinese market and OKI's advanced financial solutions

Tokyo, Japan, September 10, 2007 -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) today announced its participation in the China International Exhibition on Financial Banking Technology & Equipment 2007 (CIFTEE), which will be held in Beijing from September 13th to the 16th. As the expert in manufacturing ATMs(Auto teller machines) with deposit and withdrawal functions, OKI will display and promote its ATMs in the Chinese market -- a market mostly made up of withdrawal-function-only machines. In addition, OKI will introduce a variety of IT solutions, which enable financial institutions to improve their services and business efficiency.

OKI will be exhibiting its "ATM21S," a full-spec banknote recycling(*1) ATM, a key product in China, in which sales have been growing, and the compact and space-saving ATM, "ATM21SX." OKI will also display its passbook printer, "FP21A," a compact deposit-banknote control system, "CX220," and advanced solutions to support automation for financial institutions.

"Based on the knowledge and technologies we have accumulated as the leading maker of ATMs in Japan, we believe we can provide various IT solutions to the Chinese financial institutions," said Harushige Sugimoto, Senior Vice President overseeing global businesses at OKI. "We are excited to showcase our ATMs and printers, which have been designed, manufactured and sold through Oki Electric Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd, where production capability has expanded three fold since January 2007."

Major products to be exhibited include:

  1. Multifunctional ATM "ATM21S"
    This is an ATM developed for the China market with a banknote recycling method to significantly improve cash efficiency. It improves operation with capacity to hold 14,000 banknotes while maintaining the same width as a cash dispenser, which makes it easy for replacement. This ATM has a 15inch high-definition color LCD, the largest LCD in the industry, that help users with voice and graphic guidance. ATM21S includes user-friendly display, passbook printing function, and can operate for 24hours.
  2. Compact ATM, "ATM21SX"
    This is an ATM for small and mid-size branches or convenience stores with the banknote recycling method. It is 30% smaller than the conventional model with capacity to hold up to 7,000 banknotes. With the industry's largest 15inch high-definition color LCD, graphics and voice guidance it is a user-friendly ATM that can operate for 24 hours.
  3. Passbook printer "FP21A"
    This passbook printer has a wide frontage, which enables users to insert their passbooks from any part of the frontage. It is a small, high-speed printer, which keeps its operating sounds at minimum.
  4. Compact Banknote Deposit Control System "CX220"
    This is a high-performance machine that can handle four types of banknotes. While accepting Chinese banknotes of different sizes, it can simultaneously scan the deposit cash while bundling the cash.
  5. Bank branch system (sample exhibit)
    Functions to automate cash process and recognize content of bank forms automatically enable easier transaction, reduce bank officers' workload and improve operating efficiency. In addition, space-saving at bank branches can be achieved.

Glossary

  • *1 :Banknote recycling

    This is a method, first to be achieved by OKI in 1983. By enabling the deposited banknote to be recycled to be used for withdrawal, it has contributed in the spread of ATMs in the Japan.
