Increases the number of service locations with the launch of CTstage® 4i softswitch model
Tokyo, Japan, November 15, 2005 -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) today launched the Chinese version of its contact center system, "CTstage® 4i for .NET softswitch model." With this launch, Oki enhances its service capability by opening five new service locations to provide total support service to Japanese companies in China, from system construction to operation and maintenance. OKI Software Technology Co., Ltd., Oki's subsidiary in China will take charge of sales and services for CTstage 4i.
"We are the first company in China to establish a maintenance structure for contact center systems with several locations throughout the country and enable customers to call contact centers 24 hours a day either in Japanese or in Chinese, said Katsuyoshi Koide, President of Multimedia Messaging Company at Oki Electric. "Because the softswitch model responds to the demand for offshore systems that link China and Japan and to the need for concentration and decentralization resulting from the vast country of China, customers can establish a system that is free of location, according to their operation style."
Since April 2003, Oki has been providing the Chinese version of its contact center system, UnPBX CTstage 4i, for the rapidly growing Chinese market. The CTstage 4i softswitch model enables IP integration of data and voice by connecting the server and the operator's location via IP-VPN or wide LANs. This enables customers to establish an offshore system, installing the server in Japan and connecting to mission critical systems while allocating operators in China where operation cost are cheaper. Just as easily, decentralized systems can be established to integrate multiple locations within China.
When offshore systems are constructed in China, the main concerns for Japanese companies are the operation, maintenance and the issue of whether they can receive adequate response when a problem occurs. Customers request seamless support and a one-window operation when systems form a link between Japan and China. To respond to these demands, Oki has strengthened its support base in China, and now provides one-stop service, offering construction through to maintenance, as part of its service lineup.
Support locations include East China (Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou), where the sales offices of Japanese companies' are concentrated, and South China (Shenzhen and Gangzhou), where manufacturing bases are plentiful. After January 2006, Oki plans to establish locations in Dalian and Beijing, which are important locations for Japanese contact centers. By simplifying the windows for China and Japan into a one-window operation, Oki has established a structure to provide quick and appropriate support when problems occur with these offshore systems.
