RECOMM Selects NEC and Oki's Call Center System in China
Tokyo, Japan, September 29, 2004 -- NEC Corporation (TSE: 6701) and Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) today announced that RECOMM Co., Ltd., the Japanese information and telecom office automation equipment sales company, selected an outbound call center system for its office in Dalian China. This 50-seat call center system starts service from November 2004. Because it is relatively easy to ensure Japanese-speaking operators in Dalian, Japanese companies with call center functions are actively finding their way into China. NEC and Oki together enhance and expand their solution provisioning to such companies.
Following is the installation background and system outline for the call center system provided to RECOMM;
- Installation background
RECOMM is Japan's first company to franchise sales business for information and telecom equipment. In order to improve sales efficiency at the headquarters and its franchise companies, RECOMM established Dalian RECOMM CIS Co., Ltd., in October 2003, a subsidiary in China, functioning as an outbound call center. The main task for Dalian RECOMM is to make phone calls and appointments to potential customers in Japan, substituting the sales representatives at the headquarters. RECOMM decided to renew its call center system in Dalian to reduce costs and improve business efficiency.
- System outline
The infrastructure for the call center system is based on Oki's "CTstage® 4i for .NET (Chinese version)," Oki's UnPBX-type CTI system that holds the top market share in the Japanese call center market(*1), starting operation from October 2004. In addition to this system, NEC Nexsolutions, Ltd. takes charge of building and operating application systems including, "Integrated Customer Database" that consists database for calling targeted customers and meeting histories, as well as schedule management system for sales reps at RECOMM headquarters. By linking these systems, Dalian RECOMM can improve appointment making via international phone calls and enhance its sales activities.
NEC and Oki's local subsidiaries, NEC Systems Integration (China) Co., Ltd. and OKI Software Technology Co., Ltd. will work together to build the system for Dalian RECOMM.
NEC and Oki have entered a partnership in Japan and China to deploy CRM and call center solutions. NEC was evaluated for its substantial support system and abundant system integration track records in ERP based on production management for the Japanese companies in China. Oki's CTstage was also thought highly of for its advanced function and various experiences it holds in the call center field. Going forward NEC and Oki will continue to enhance its partnership to strengthen the support system for Japanese companies entering China.
In addition, based on CTstage and NEC's PBX, the "NEAX Series," NEC will provide various call center solutions including system construction, installation, operation as well as operator recruitment, education and support. With the know-how NEC has cultivated in CRM solutions in Japan, NEC will also offer the best solutions to improve enterprises' customer relationship including Sales Force Automation (SFA) solutions and Partner Relationship Management (PRM) solutions.
This system will be exhibited at the workshop of C&C User Forum & iEXPO2004, which will be held from December 1-3, 2004 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan.
