<Notice of Information> NEC and Oki Jointly Launch CRM/Call Center Solution Seminar in China
Tokyo, Japan, August 28, 2003 -- NEC Corp. (TSE: 6701) and Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) announced today the acceleration of their joint deployment in China of total solutions for customer relationship management (CRM) and call center system. As the first activity, their local companies in China will hold a jointly sponsored seminar entitled "NEC & OKI CRM/Call Center Solution Seminar," which is to be held on Sept. 3 in Beijing and on Sept. 5 in Shanghai. The target participants are Japanese-owned companies that have operations in China.
The importance of the Chinese market increased with China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO). Japanese companies that have manufacturing operations in China are enhancing their sales and marketing activities by introducing systems for market cultivation and customer management.
"More and more enterprises in China are taking a closer look at CRM and call center solutions to improve their organizational productivity," stated Yuichiro Aoki, President of NEC Systems Integration (China) Co., Ltd. "In order to address these customer needs, NEC and Oki are combining their cumulated experiences to help customers quickly deploy and support the most advanced and reliable solutions on the market today."
"We believe the comprehensive solution provided by the collaboration between NEC and Oki will help those companies which intend to differentiate their services to customers in China," said Masashi Tsuboi, President of the Multimedia Messaging Company at Oki Electric. "We would like them to know that our advanced CRM/call center system enables them to contact customers directly and to manage their customers' information effectively."
NEC and Oki have decided to accelerate the deployment of their comprehensive solutions for CRM and call center systems in China. This involves various businesses from system construction and operation, to the hiring and training of operators, as well as system support. NEC has vast experiences with system integration in China, while Oki leads the Japanese call center market with its CTstage® product, the de facto standard of computer telephony integration (CTI) and IP communication systems. By combining both companies' technologies and system construction know-how, the two companies can provide corporate customers with full-fledged call centers at minimum cost and in a substantially shortened time frame.
The first tangible step toward will be the jointly held seminars by their local companies aimed at Japanese companies, planning to introduce CRM and call center systems. At the seminars, they will explain to potential customers how to operate a support and sales organization, share with them the know-how needed to operate a call center in China, and conduct a demonstration of CTstage system.
In April 2003, Oki introduced their CTstage 4i to Chinese and Japanese companies operating in China, and Oki has also strengthened its partnership with NEC Systems Integration (China) Co., Ltd., a local company of NEC.
