Restoration of Miyagi Oki Electric from Damage Resulting from the Earthquakes

Immediately after reports of the earthquake, Oki established a task force led by Katsuhiko Sano, Senior Vice President of Oki Electric, to assess the damage to the plant and coordinate repairs and other actions necessary to restore operations as quickly as possible. The task force initiated actions including debris removal, inspection, and repair activities. Through these efforts, the 6-inch wafer fabrication line resumed production on July 27 and the 8-inch wafer fabrication line is expected to resume full operation within the week of August 4.

"Because of the quick actions, we were able to minimize the damage to our semiconductor production. We will continue efforts to enable the line to return to full operation as soon as possible.
