Oki to Ship Bluetooth™ Total Solution Packages
June 8, 2000, Tokyo, Japan -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. today
announced it will begin shipping in July Bluetooth™
total solution packages comprising an LSI chipset, protocol software and system
development kit.
Oki expects its Bluetooth™ total solution
package sales to reach approximately US$100 million in fiscal 2002.
The ML7050LA CMOS-based RF transceiver LSI and ML7051LA baseband controller
LSI are effectively integrated into the chipset, which helps to greatly minimize
RF external components. The packages incorporate a variety of commonly used logic
interfaces, including USB and UART.
Three different software packages, BTS packs 1, 2 and 3, are available for
various stacks. The packs incorporate radio control technology from Oki and protocol
stacks licensed from Widcomm Inc., a world leader in Bluetooth wireless connectivity
solutions. The BT-SDK System Development Kit is offered as a Bluetooth™
module for software and hardware development.

The products will be exhibited at booths 20 and 21 (level 1) during Bluetooth
Congress 2000 in Monte Carlo, Monaco starting June 13, and at the booth of 1317
during Wireless Japan in Tokyo starting July 17.
Other Bluetooth™ products to be released
soon include:
- Flash ROM-embedded baseband LSI
- ML7050 and ML7051 housed in ultra-small W-CSP packages
- RF transceiver LSI for mobile phones
- ASCP for high-volume applications
