"Oki has led the pack of CTI manufacturers," says Toshimichi Kimura, General Manager,
Corporate Information Network Systems Division of Oki Electric. In 1996, Oki put
on the market the first CTstage designed for unified messaging, the first of its
kind. "In 1998, we launched CTstage 2.0 with the informal call center function
to provide the integration of the office CTI and the call center CTI," says Kimura.
CTstage3.0 comes in either pre-installed hardware "CTstage integration model"
or software. The "integration model" supports IP telephony as well as analog lines
and digital lines, and allows users flexible line configuration selections. "CTstage
site user license" and "CTstage speech recognition package (Type1)" are added
to the software packages.
"The launch of the new CTstage is the first tier of Oki's cooperation with
Intel in the development of the CTI market," says Kimura. In July 1999, Oki and
Intel concluded a tie-up to develop and market CTI products. CTstage 3.0 employs
Intel's telephony board DM3 IPLink. It enjoys the largest share in the world's
telephony board market.
