Oki Strengthens its CTI Business Offerings
- Company announces CTstage™ 2.0, the new and improved UnPBX designed for unified messaging and call center capability -
June 22, 1998, Tokyo, Japan -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. announced today
the release of CTstage™ 2.0, the company's
new Microsoft® Windows NT®-based
computer telephony (CT) system designed for small call centers. The product will
be released in July.
CTstage 2.0 delivers unified messaging and call center capability through
one server, without the need for additional hardware or PBXs. This allows corporations
of any size to obtain traffic reports and customer databases for enhanced customer
service. CTstage 2.0 is available as either a software package or as pre-installed
hardware.
CTstage 2.0 offers:
- Automatic Call Distributor (ACD) to efficiently route incoming calls to operators.
- Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to provide callers with information in a
human or a computerized voice.
- Intelligent Routing of incoming calls to select the best circuit path for
reaching a call center agent.
- PC Interface Telephone to make and receive calls using a PC-based visual interface.
Oki's CTstage 2.0 links computers and telephones to fulfill all the
communication needs of a company. With enhanced unified messaging capability,
users are notified of new e-mail messages and can play them as electronic voice
messages over the telephone. Those messages can in turn be sent to a fax machine,
pager or cell phone.
"the oki ctstage system provides businesses of any size with a powerful,
cost effective call center that converges voice, fax and electronic mail," said
Toshimichi Kimura, General Manager, Corporate Information Network Systems Division
of Oki Electric.
Supporing Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 messaging platform package and Lotus
Notes® groupware, the system allows users
to easily communicate over a local area network (LAN) for improved business results.
Bilingual (English/Japanese) text-to-speech synthesis capability and support for
international standards, such as Internet Message Access Protocol 4 (IMAP 4) and
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), are additional features offered
through CTstage 2.0. The rack-mountable unit, which supports up to 48 trunk
lines and 24 extensions, will be available later this year.
CTstage 2.0 will be exhibited at the Computer Telephony World Expo'98
in Tokyo, Japan from July 1st through 3rd.
CTstage Call Center Extension, the company's new call center middleware
and application development tool package, will also be available in July.
