Enterprise Network Domain
Communications carriers are beginning to build Next Generation Networks(NGN), which are integrated IP networks capable of delivering services. These networks:(1) provide high quality and security at low cost, (2) integrate fixed and mobile telephony, and (3) fuse networks and computing. Enterprises will face the imperative of enhancing their competitiveness in their respective industries by taking advantage of services offered via NGN.
OKI has already laid the groundwork for customers to enjoy a smooth, safe, and painless transition to an NGN environment by establishing key technologies for integrating audio, data, and video over corporate IP networks.

OKI's Enterprise Network Solutions from OKI
OKI's world-class, state-of-the-art triple play technologies for integrating audio, data, and video can help your enterprise become more competitive. Our products are built around technologies like eSound™ and eVideo™ that are optimized for IP networks.
OKI has already established a proven track record in providing enterprise network solutions in the form of high-quality IP telephony, high-quality videophone, IP video services, and SIP application services, all of which are being touted as future NGN services.
IP telephony :
With a record of innovation that includes releasing the BS1100, Japan's first VoIP gateway, in 1996 as well as IPstage, Japan's first IP-PBX, OKI has been creating new market opportunities since the dawn of IP telephony. Our portfolio includes enterprise-grade IP telephony products designed for companies with up to several tens of thousands of employees. Built around technologies such as eSound, a solution for transmitting high-quality audio over IP networks, these products reach from the IPstage Series (EX300/MX/SX) for small and medium-size companies to the large-scale IP CONVERGENCE Server SS9100.
OKI is proud to offer support throughout its product line for FMC functionality made available by NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, SoftBank, and others using dual terminals with wireless LAN capability as well as carrier-provided IP telephone and public IP telephone network services like NTT's Hikari Denwa.
IP contact center :
OKI's CTstage® is a leading choice among Japanese contact centers. With cumulative sales (as of September 2006) exceeding 5,200 installations since its introduction in 1996, the product is utilized in a broad range of fields.
Reflecting the exceptional flexibility and ease of use provided by its open, server-based architecture, CTstage has been successfully paired with more than 30 CRM packages. Easy customization allows customers to build systems quickly and efficiently.
The most recent version, CTstage 5i, converges OKI's CTI and IP-PBX technologies. This combination enhances durability and expandability while maintaining the flexibility and usability of the previous model. The system is based on a single architecture, supporting IP contact centers from those with just a few operator seats up to those with several thousand seats, enabling seamless expansion.
IP video :
In video distribution, OKI designed the OKI MediaServer around its eVideo technology for delivering high-quality video over IP networks, incorporating support for H.264, IPv6, and IP multicasting. This innovative product allows enterprise customers to bring the technology used in systems such as Plala networks' 4th Media and the NHK Archives to their own video distribution architectures.
OKI's VisualCast® series brings the company's innovative technologies to IP remote video monitoring, an area that plays an important role in establishing and maintaining security both inside and outside the enterprise.
Linkages with SIP applications :
OKI's AS8700 SIP application server, which operates in conjunction with the IP CONVERGENCE Server SS9100, enables integration with internal corporate IT systems using standard protocols such as SOAP and Web Services. OKI remains committed to delivering high value-added enterprise network solutions by facilitating interaction with presence, positioning information, and other applications provided by the NGN.

Glossary
- eVideo™
- Name of an OKI video codec technology that enables high-speed, high-quality, low-latency video communications, recording, and playback over IP networks. eVideo complies with MPEG-4, H.264, and other codecs as defined by international standards organizations such as the ISO and ITU. In addition to support for devices ranging from low-bandwidth cellular phones, mobile terminals, and videophones to high-definition IPTV, the technology can be incorporated into ICs and other platforms.
- eSound™
- Name of a proprietary OKI technology for transmitting a wider audio frequency band than is possible with conventional phones over IP networks. Because IP telephony-a technology for transmitting audio over IP networks-is not subject to the constraints of conventional communications infrastructures, engineers have free reign to exercise their creativity in order to improve sound quality. OKI is working to research, develop, and popularize eSound, a suite of technologies for delivering audio of exceptional quality and presence as only IP telephony can.
- IP contact center
- Term used to describe a new type of facility created by utilizing electronic media such as email, the Web, and chat to enhance and streamline operations at call centers, which traditionally have been used to handle customer service, support, and mail-order sales via phone and fax.
