Bringing highly accurate iris authentication to mobile devices

Security issues of mobile services

User authentication for mobile devices to prevent misuse when lost or stolen is becoming more critical as new services, such as mobile enterprise solutions and mobile payment usage, are more commonly used.

Enables highly accurate authentication using embedded camera

Highly accurate user authentication (error rate: 1/100,000) can be achieved using a regular embedded camera (with visible light). Authentication can be completed simply by looking into the camera, and can be used in a wide range of mobile devices, such as mobile phones, notebook PCs, PDAs, etc.

Offers peace of mind to mobile service customers

This technology helps prevent identify theft with its highly accurate user authentication capability, allowing customers to always use mobile services with great security.

About "iris"

  • The iris is a contractile membrane which adjusts dilations and contractions of a pupil.
  • The iris is an organ inside the pupil in the eye, so it is extremely difficult to counterfeit.
  • There is little aging effects made to iris patterns after the age of two. Moreover, there are no effects from environmental exposures, enabling the user to use the previously registered data continuously.
