Establishment of environmental management system
In order to decrease environmental burdens related to production activities and products, Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd. is promoting an environmental management system which confirms to ISO 14001 by deciding on goals for major production bases, to include affiliated companies in and outside Japan.
Activity goals
(1)Major production bases of Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd. are to acquire ISO 14001 authorization by the end of fiscal 1997
(2)Major production bases of affiliated companies of the OKI Group are to acquire ISO 14001 authorization by the end of fiscal 1998

As a result, five major production bases of Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd. acquired ISO 14001 authorization by the end of fiscal 1997, attaining activity goal (1).
Five major production bases of affiliated companies of the OKI Group acquired ISO 14001 authorization in fiscal 1997, and four production bases in fiscal 1998 attaining activity goal (2).
Hence all activity goals were achieved. One non-production base also acquired ISO 14001 authorization in fiscal 1998.
