Efforts for environmentally gentle products

OKI is contributing to global environmental protection by developing environmentally gentle products.

1.Development of ITS

ITS (Intelligent Transport System) is a new transport system which organically integrates roads and vehicles using the latest information communication technology.
ITS, which adjusts to traffic demands, improves traffic flow and advances road operations based on information communication with vehicles, is effective to decrease the energy consumption of a transportation area which represents 30% of total energy consumption. Last year OKI contributed to global environmental protection by promoting ITS and activities to develop and apply ITS for practical use, which includes organizing and expanding VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System), implementing an automatic toll collection system (ETC), and research and development of AHS (Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems).

2.Digital LED type page printer

The features of this digital LED type page printer are a simple structure and low power consumption. Oki Data Corp. is contributing to energy conservation and resource saving by developing page printers based on this type.
We also developed an original toner recycling system where residual toner attached to the photosensitive drum during printing is collected and cycled back to the toner cartridge, thus effectively using toner resources.
