CenterStage NX5000/NX5100CenterStage NX5000/NX5100 overviewThe CenterStage NX5000 and NX5100 are communications servers designed for large-scale carriers and optimized to serve as a foundation for Next Generation Network(*1) (NGN) services. CenterStage HAPF (OKI's proprietary high-availability(*2) middleware) delivers the high level of availability and performance demanded by NGN, cutting maintenance and management costs with high 99.9999% availability, call processing performance that reaches 1 million busy hour call attempts (BHCA), and 800,000 subscriber capacity (per server). New functionality preserves the conventional softswitch architecture while enhancing call session control functions in IMS to effect a transformation from softswitch to CSCF (Call Session Control Function) in preparation for the advent of true NGN. The NX5000 implements functionality defined by I-CSCF, S-CSCF, and BGCF, while the NX5100 provides functionality defined by P-CSCF. These capabilities dramatically simplify not only audio, video, and data session control but also the transition from conventional IP phone networks to NGN.
Implementing PSTN/ISDN simulation over NGNSupport for future services with ISC interfacesCenterStage now includes improved support for ISC interfaces(*7) defined by groups such as 3GPP(*5) in the IMS(*6) standard. This capability will allow new and future services such as push to talk over cellular(*8) and multimedia instant messaging as well as FMC(*9)-related services to be supported through linkages with application servers such as OKI's SipAsTMon WebLogic, an application server that fuses IT and communications. CenterStage HAPFThe CenterStage NX Series applies CenterStage HAPF (OKI's proprietary high-availability middleware) to deliver the exceptional performance, capacity, and reliability demanded by NGN.
